Couples on the Spectrum

Learn research on couples & tools to improve your relationship.

20 US dollars
Online Workshop

Service Description

Research about couples and relationships with at least one partner on the spectrum is fairly limited and new. We'll look at what research has been conducted to date, and then open the discussion to issues or strategies on the participants' minds. This session adapts based on its participants and their needs, but generally sessions offer couples a place to discuss these issues and to explore together. We'll review some relevant research, and discuss strategies for managing daily challenges, but mostly we'll focus on what participants want to talk about. This workshop is generalized for an adult population, and is designed to be inclusive, meaning encouraged for neuro-typical, autistic and special needs populations alike. We all benefit from interacting and learning from each other. Please remember to be kind and supportive with your feedback. These facilitated group discussions are a safe space for people with similar circumstances to discuss the unique challenges, frustrations, joys and insights that occur within their group. Ground rules include no dominating the conversation, no shaming, respect for all, and confidentiality. Groups often find a cathartic and heartwarming balance between vulnerability, shared humor and support.
